Job Description

Essential & Other Functions:

Provide application expertise to support the LMS and the community's needs. Provides the day-to-day operational support of the Learning Management System.  Triage, assess, and provide solutions for tickets submitted by the user community. Work with the LMS team on various projects. This role provides application administration for the LMS and acts as the release manager ensuring the LMS environment is stable during the release of any updates.  Coordinates with various IT staff ensuring successful deployments/upgrades to the LMS. 

Work as part of the team to document test cases and testing scenarios for all enhancements, customizations or upgrades projects and to provide testing/validation of these test scenarios in the various LMS environments. 

Responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation. Provides training and resources for individuals and groups such as Center for Teaching & Learning staff and Help Desk Specialists on effective strategies and the use of technology tools and media to meet specific teaching and learning goals. 

Provide recommendations, and project recommendations to the associate director for enhancements, customizations, or upgrades to the LMS.  Research and/or experimentation of innovative or new technologies that will compliment/enhance the LMS. 

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required.  Three to five (3-5) years experience supporting Learning Management Systems.  Good analytical skills for addressing complex technical problems, and critical thinking skills to provide recommended solutions.  Experiences LMS Admin skills with a strong preference for Moodle Admin experience. Good written and verbal communication skills.

Supports the LMS, running over 1300 courses per semester with averages of 8000 active users.

Responds to on average 10-20 support requests a week.

Partners with groups both internally and externally across campus to maintain, support, and enhance the LMS.

Works on 2 - 4 significant projects per year. Has the ability to make day-to-day decisions regarding the support and administration of the LMS.  Makes recommendations for development/upgrades/enhancements of the LMS.
