ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for...
• Managing the development and preparation of internal and external reports for management and executives including monthly financial statements, cash flow analysis, etc.
• Interacting with accounting staff to ensure completion of analytical analysis for the monthly financials.
• Participating in the budget process
• Contributing to monthly budget variance reporting and analysis for all financials as mentioned above with specific concentration on revenue
• Assisting in reviewing the physician compensation calculation. Identify areas of improvement for accuracy of calculation and the timeliness of payment request submissions
• Acting as an Accounting Liaison
• Assisting department managers in identifying and communicating their financial management needs
• Responding to department, physician and other requests for financial data and interpretation of financial reports, ledger, policy and accounting regulations
• Reviewing accounting ledgers on a monthly basis to ensure that revenue and expenses are properly recorded
• Facilitating the maintenance of department policies and procedures
• Completing of various special projects as assigned
CORE REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or related field
• Three to five years of professional accounting experience or equivalent
• Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Specific knowledge of management reporting and financial statement preparation
• Ability to reconcile departmental records to system reports
• Supervisory experience and government accounting knowledge a plus
• Background in fund accounting and healthcare accounting is desirable
• Skill in keying data into the existing computer system accurately and quickly
• Effectively communicate findings and adjustments both orally and in writing
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word |
