Job Description

AVID Technical Resources is seeking a remote Programmer Analyst to provide support to their Higher Ed client in Los Angeles

DUTIES AND TASKS
A. Application Development
  1. Digital Learning Environment and Web/Mobile Application Development
    • Using agile development methodologies, participate in the development initiatives of the ETS initiatives.
    • Work with DevOps group to develop and follow best pratices for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and automation.
  2. Testing frameworks for Unit, Integration and Functional testing
  3. Ongoing maintenance and feature development of existing applications
B. Innovation
  1. Explore and introduce to the team areas of technical innovation as they pertain to software development practices, analytics, or new and emerging technologies relevant to the domain of teaching and learing in Health Sciences.
C. IT process, governance and infrastructure
  1. Particatpe in the development of mature IT process development and project management.
  2. Collaborate with infrastructure and networking teams to ensure highly available and fault tolerant application architecture.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline (or relevant work experience)
  2. Excellent coding skills in web application and/or mobile frameworks (3 + years)
  3. PHP and MySQL 
  4. Javascript/jQuery 
  5. Symfony Framework
  6. DevOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment techniques
  7. Git
  8. Expertise in with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  9. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work in a group environment, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other members of the development team as well as external stakeholders
  10. Experience in problem solving and negotiating with colleagues, clients and senior leadership to produce positive outcomes.
  11. UI/UX development in web and mobile frameworks
  12. Demonstrated work style that builds and maintains a climate of caring, respect and trust and inspires commitment from others to achieve organizational goals.
  13. Ability to consistently interact with all members of the organization in ways that enhance understanding, respect, cooperation, and problem-solving.
  14. Demonstrated ability to handle heavy workload and constantly changing demands, priorities, and purposes
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. .NET VB and MS SQL Server
  2. Github, Jira, Docker
  3. Expertise in microservice oriented design and RESTful API design patterns and consumption
  4. Knowledge and experience in Cloud Platforms
  5. AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform
  6. Familiarity with analytics and business intelligence platforms.
