Job Description

Reporting to the marketing and communication manager, the IT writer and communications coordinator will support the Communications team in engaging with university stakeholders about the value of IT, services, and solutions. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of executing tactical marketing and communications effectively and in a fast-paced and sometimes uncertain environment. The candidate will also have excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities may include:
 
  • Designing and implementing communication plans that leverage digital, modern communications methods where necessary to deliver engaging content and meet campaign goals.
  • Writing and editing relevant and compelling copy for web, email, digital, print, and other mediums, ensuring the content is informational, educational, or, where appropriate, driving audience to take action.
  • Driving engagement with key stakeholders through campaigns, newsletters, events, training, and other marketing and communications efforts.
  • Striving for continuous quality improvement and counseling unit leaders when new opportunities to enhance processes or project communications arise.
  • Helping plan and coordinate event logistics to deliver delightful and first-class customer experiences.
  • Contributing to unit and project team creative and strategic direction and implementation.
  • Collaborating with project teams, IT colleagues, vendors, campus-wide partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Performing administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in the marketing or communications fields, preferably in a technology environment
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong oral skills
  • Previous experience with executing email marketing campaigns
  • Familiarity with WordPress or similar web content management system
  • Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Ability to thrive and get results in a fast-paced and sometimes uncertain environment
