  • Strategize, design data architectures, develop ETL standards and templates
  • Be responsible for the development of the architecture of the DGSOM data warehouse environment.
  • Provide guidance on how to manage, evolve and consume the data warehouse and associated datamarts.
  • In conjunction with OHIA, helps set enterprise standards for the data objects. The Data Architect will be the principle position to ensure set standards are adhered to.
  • Provide general technical support in the areas of ETL, Logical and Physical data structures and data modeling.
  • Be expected to work on, maintain, and manage multiple projects simultaneously over an extended period of time, lead junior level developers with appropriately prioritizing tasks and regularly showing progress.
  • help define the level of effort for data architecture and data warehouse management while identifying risks and issues that impact deliverables across the data warehouse and business intelligence architecture.
The Data Architect will receive supervision from Director of Data operations and is expected to take the lead in the logical and physical desing of the data warehouse architecture as well as ensuring data quality and master data management standards.

80%    Data Warehouse Architecture, Design and Development 
•    Design and manage the physical and logical architecture of data lake and data warehouse. 
•    Manage ETL processes for accessing new sources into data warehouse
•    Data interface management 
•    Manage master data management processes 
•    Build scalable datamarts for application and analytics/business intelligence platforms to consume
•    Document design and implementation of data warehouse.
•    Maintenance of knowledgebase for cosnumsers of datamarts
•    Champion automation and DevOps practices 
20%    Supervise and mentor other technical staff in Data Operations group
•    Provide assistance and daily direction to junior ETL developers.
•    Conduct small group training sessions regarding data architecture and ETL development. 
•    Work with team to develop and implement standardized processes
•    Backstop ETL Developers and DBAs in their duties.

  • Highly technical with a BS in Computer Science or 8 years of experience in data management. Masters preferred.   
  • Expert in building  and managing enterprise-level data integration and data transformation platforms – cloud experience preferred  
  • Expert in Kimball dimentional data modeling, architecting  and managing data warehouse and datamart schema (star/snowflake schama, OLAP cubes)    
  • Passion for continuous quality improvement and leading organizational change through the use of data-driven decision making   
  • Expert in implementing data warehousing methodologies using RDBMS (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Postgres) systems.    
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics or related field required. Masters preferred.  
  • Expert level ability to program in SQL (such as PLSQL, TSQL )    
  • Expert level experience in ETL development and standards. Proven skills in standardization of ETL development and execution for large-scale enterprise data sources   
  • Experience with standard ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica, ODI
  • Experience and knowledge of programming/scripting languages (e.g. Ruby, Python).   
  • Practioner of automation and DevOps practices, Including an understanding of Business Intelligence tool functionality (SAP BO, Cognos, Tableau, QlikView)
  • ability to install and manage BI software systems; experience architecting BI software suites.  
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical people to enhance understanding and drive to decisions that lead to positive outcomes.  
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work in a group environment, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff and other department personnel.
  • Database administration expertise
  • Experience with cloud hosted data management services and pipelines (AWS, Azure) 
  • Understanding of the full Business Intelligence development lifecycle.
