Job Description

The Change Communication Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering on communications related to Transformation and Change Initiatives. This role requires a creative thinker, able to operate effectively at all levels of the organization and excited to drive change adoption in the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage and guide all aspects of internal communications in support of a project or initiative to drive audience engagement and adoption
  • Develop a comprehensive communication plan in alignment with the change strategy that includes the purposes, timelines, audiences, messaging, campaigns, and tactics for all planned content
  • Ensure integrated and holistic communications planning/execution occurs in partnership with all key stakeholders (including marketing)
  • Provide communication counsel to guide nomenclature, major messages, language, tone and deliverables
  • Develop innovative communications approaches and content that communicates concepts in clear and concise manner and in an accessible language that can connect with target audiences
  • Identify relevant communication opportunities and guide the project team in utilizing best practices (process, platforms, tools) to maximize communication effectiveness
  • Gauge audience saturation and adjust approach to address issues/risks
  • Test tactics, formats, and platforms; support measuring the success of communications strategies and tactics using analytics; share findings and recommendations with change lead and project team to inform future planning and overall effectiveness
  • Manage and update content across relevant platforms; Continually define and measure the impact of change communications
  • Work with key initiative stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop communications, including email announcements, powerpoint presentations, articles, talking points, website copy, video scripts, basic video editing, etc.
  • Conduct and execute on research to ensure messages are relevant, accurate and targeted appropriately
  • Ensure that communications are aligned with corporate objectives and that the brand message is consistent with the the company standards
  • Create, organize and update content in our central repository to ensure all content created is easily accessible

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Change Management, Marketing or related roles
  • Communications focused on change and experience supporting large Corporate Transformations
  • Experience executing on large, complex Communications Strategies
  • Experience executing on large technology transformations a plus
  • Financial Services / Insurance experience a plus
  • Supporting client communications within an agency setting a plus
  • Knowledge of strategic change communications, stakeholder engagement, and change management best practices
  • Proven ability to get up to speed quickly in a complex business environment, understand subject matter and craft messages that will resonate with your target audience
  • Comfort working with internal marketing, external agencies and creative teams to facilitate execution
  • Experience developing talking points, crafting emails, writing articles and supporting video creation
  • Experience leveraging various communications channels to deliver messaging
  • Ability to work independently and in large transformation teams, prioritize workload to meet demands, and be well organized and proactive
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team environment with quick turnaround times
  • Ability to collaborate, connect across teams and work with senior leadership
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent deck-building/PowerPoint skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or other closely related field
  • Prosci ADKAR Certification or other formal Change Management training a plus
