Business Analyst Job Spec.
  • Product level experience 
  • More of a true BA than a PM 
  • Focused on software development or systems integration (not operations)  
  • Commercial software develop 
  • Integrating CRM or something similar  
  • Data analysis and data modeling 
  • Interface independently with their business user base, setting up and running workshops to collect and refine requirements.  
  • Agile is important no waterfall  
  • Develop and refine high complexity process flows – process modeling, process flow diagrams 
  • Customer facing, strong comm written and oral 
  • Synthesize what they’re talking about to different audiences, technical and non-technical verbiage  
  • Requirements management system, Azure devops or TFS, or Jira, etc.  
  • Write and draft requirements with acceptance criteria, story format (user stories) 
  • Need someone who is more proactive than reactive, don’t wait for direction, take the initiative – want people to be assertive and hit ground running 
Business Analyst Responsibilities:
Participates in the collection, evaluation, understanding, and communication of business requirements in support of the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business applications within client’s Strategy & Business Enablement department. Those holding this position are typically assigned to project teams.  

Essential functions:
  • Gains knowledge and completes assignments related to system requirements definition, testing, implementation, and support of business applications or components thereof that meet or exceed the expectations of client’s employees and customers.  
  • Assists in soliciting business requirements through interviews, workshops, and/or review of existing system documentation or software.  
  • Gains an understanding of and displays hands on utilization of industry standard analysis techniques and skills to uncover and document business requirements, such as data flow modeling, use-case analysis, and workflow analysis.  
  • Gains proficiency in documenting the results of analysis activities using assigned templates and tools.  
  • Gains and displays understanding of business processes in the assigned area and its part in client’s business mode
