Clinical Team Manager

Summary:      The Clinical Team Manager (CTM) will be responsible for the overall management of clinical research staff as it relates to on-going oncology clinical trials.  Additionally this position will be responsible for managing assigned projects including liaising between the funder and the project team for clinical trials managed by the organization. This position coordinates the efforts of the entire work team to ensure that all aspects of the department are operating efficiently

Job Requirements

Experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience managing in a clinical research setting is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with oncology clinical trials is required. 
  • Work Experience with a CRO or pharmaceutical organization is helpful.

Education
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing or possess relevant professional experience is required. 
  • SOCRA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Manages all staffing (employees and contractors) for the ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Group, PrECOG and Alpha Oncology research teams including staffing, recruiting, work assignments and other related activities.
  • Manages new hire orientation process including staff training and records retention
  • Conducts performance evaluations for employees
  • Authorizes and tracks PTO for the research teams
  • Reviews and approves all time, travel and expenses for the research teams
  • Oversees the site reimbursement process for the research teams
  • Supers and trains of staff
  • Reviews resource assignments and makes adjustments as required based on study needs and workloads
  • Acts as liaison for department as it relates to potential HR related issues and concerns
  • Communicates regularly with the Director
  • Coordinates the development of project teams including members of the Medical, Data Management, Regulatory, Monitoring and Clinical Supplies departments as needed
  • Coordinates communication with and within all departments regarding the delegation of study tasks and team(s)
  • Provides direction for study issues resolution
  • Coordinates departmental communication regarding the delegation of study tasks and teams(s)
  • Attend relevant meetings for sponsor-related activities, cooperative groups and the organization’s staff meetings
