Job Description Vendor Manager Location: Johnston, Rhode Island Date Posted: 11/9/2023 Employment Type: Consulting Recruiter: Clayton Minnich Recruiter Email: clayton.minnich@avidtr.com Job ID: JN -112023-15788 Job Description Essential Functions & Responsibilities: End to End Procurement 50%: Develops a thorough strategic plan to drive value for the technology category based on an understanding of technology needs and external value added products and services Plans and manages large, moderate to significant complexity/impact/risk technology projects with high financial impact to forward technology category strategies Helps lead research of market intelligence regarding alternate suppliers; Determines short list and selected vendor(s) in line with category strategy for highest complexity, highest risk deals. Manages self in procurement process with vendor and internal stakeholders for business critical new products and services and renewals based on complex business requirements and/or moderate to significant complexity category strategy. Includes leading of RFI/RFP, vendor evaluation and selection, contract development, contract price and terms negotiation, conclusion of deal, and follow through on success of implementation/onboarding, etc. Leads all interaction on projects with Law & Government Affairs and Information Security, and Architecture/Infrastructure teams as applicable. Helps drive partnership with stakeholders to determine mitigation options for vendor risks, with key influence of acceptance of risks and/or leading of change in vendor direction. Manages full procurement life-cycle with most moderate to significant complexity vendors/partners in support of complex and impactful business areas/categories; Responsible for ensuring SLA’s are met and exceeded Strategy and Vendor Management: Contributes in development and evolves Sourcing strategy for technology category with moderate to significant complex technology requirements Works with some senior leaders of organization to define large, complex projects to forward marketing strategy Contributes in definition of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between key strategic vendors and stakeholder business area Assists in evolving the vendor management program to drive superior performance from key enterprise and departmental strategic partners including feedback from senior stakeholders, vendor score card development, quarterly-business reviews. Helps determine and implement associated actions to further success of overall vendor portfolio. Relationship Management: Prepares for and presents to Senior Leaders and Executives on sourcing and vendor management strategy, results, and focus areas/initiatives. Builds and maintains relationships as a key strategic partner with senior leaders of departments with respect to vendor portfolio strategy and direction, financial and risk mitigation opportunities, and business excellence and resilience Mentors other procurement professionals in developing sourcing strategies, executing on procurement and vendor management processes, and relationship building Assists in projects to implement and evolve technology platforms and tools in support technology procurement and vendor management strategy and execution of strategy Contributes to sourcing reporting and metrics to share with senior leadership Leverages market intelligences resources used by Sourcing team; Continues self-directed scanning of the market intelligence options Skills - "the how" needed to successfully deliver "the what" Experience leading million dollar deals with large, key vendors, displaying independent judgement, autonomy, and decision-making Experience in all aspects of Sourcing including development of key business strategies and category management for most critical business areas, with high visibility and financial stakes Refined project leadership skills Excellent communication and presentation skills across all levels of a large organization Accountability for delivering results with respect to financial and risk management goals Apply for this job
