Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Drupal Developer position. As a Drupal Developer, you will be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible to support the current Drupal code including but not limited to documentation of current code base. To ensure that essential services are provided to the community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience as a system administrator of critical production web servers.
  • 5+ years’ experience designing and implementing web applications or websites that leverage the Drupal content management system. This includes writing front and back-end code, ensuring solutions are operating to a degree of high performance, and identify and fix bugs that are found within code.
  • Experience working with APIs, including creating API endpoints for consumption by other websites or applications.
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Support teams in evaluating detailed requirements and provide suggestions for development
  • Experience with Code repos – Branching, merging, deploying
  • Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services (AWS, Rackspace, Pantheon)
  • Familiarity with Agile project methodology and tools (Scrum, Jira)
  • Familiarity with devops concepts (CI/CD, Automation, SCM)
  • Familiarity but not required with devops platforms (Github)
  • Excellent Communication and teamwork skills
  • Be a role model for an open, honest and inclusive approach to problem solving
  • Strong technical, cross group collaboration and communication skills
  • Will be responsible for monitoring and fixing any OS issues as we encounter them
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

50% Application Development. Work with technical and functional groups to provide systems analysis and design in support of development identified by specific user groups. Document technical and design specifications. Document current Drupal code based. 

20% Support. Provide Tier-2 customer support related to Web applications. Identify and perform root cause analysis. Serve as a technical contact to other ITS groups and University business units.  Maintain the current Drupal code base

10% Technical Architecture. Work with technical and functional groups to provide recommendations on supporting highly scalable, fault tolerant and secure software.
