Job Description


Our Client is looking for a Technical Writer to support Data Management Services with its projects including the Data and Analytics Modernization projects.
The Technical Writer will work closely with the Project’s Architect, Developers, Business Intelligence analysts and Business Analysts to deliver high quality technical documentation. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (i) writing, revising, and editing new and existing technical documents; (ii) working with project team members to conduct interviews to obtain an in-depth understanding of document requirements; (iii) producing high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience; and (iv) reviewing and validating documentation for accuracy and validity.
Specific goals for the contract resulting from this position include:
  • Responsible for writing, revising, and editing new and existing technical documents.
  • Work with team members and conduct interviews to obtain an in-depth understanding of the documentation objectives for the Project.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience, end-users and technical professionals.
  • Review and validate documentation for accuracy and validity.
  • Maintain standard document templates.
  • Converting existing documents to standard templates.
  • Develop and document procedures based on input from the teams.
  • Revise documentation as new issues arise.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications or Computer Science preferred.
  • 3 -5 years of experience working on projects, preferably IT projects and/or healthcare or government.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with the ability to be flexible.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and judgment.
  • Team player and demonstrated collaborative approach. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Advanced experience Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook; working knowledge of MS Project and Visio a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Medicaid systems, the Health Information Exchange (HIE) and Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) programs, and medical claims management systems are desired.
  • Strong preference given to candidate with proven experience in large health plan administration especially Medicaid and or CHIP or other public health applications of a similar nature.
