Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support and maintain a high-performance computing (HPC) cluster environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of infrastructure, research support, and advanced computing systems.
What You’ll Do
- Administer and maintain an HPC cluster, ensuring high availability and performance
- Manage and optimize cluster workloads using Slurm
- Partner with researchers to support job scheduling, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Install, configure, and maintain software on Linux-based systems
- Monitor system health, identify issues proactively, and implement solutions
- Collaborate with external vendors to support and enhance system infrastructure
- Manage user and group access via IPA, including permissions and storage quotas
- Oversee filesystem management, ensuring secure and efficient data usage
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator
- Strong hands-on experience with Slurm or similar job schedulers
- Proficiency with shell scripting and task automation (e.g., cron)
- Experience with high-performance storage solutions such as WekaFS or Ceph
- Familiarity with Open OnDemand is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and support technical users effectively
