Job Description

Position Summary
A well-established institution in the education and research sector is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead and manage enterprise-scale Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of IAM programs that ensure secure, compliant access to digital systems and data across a complex, distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple concurrent IAM projects with strategic importance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Develop and execute IAM roadmaps aligned with organizational goals
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and security compliance (FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Communicate effectively with executive and non-technical stakeholders
  • Manage program-level documentation, risk, scope, and timelines
Required Skills & Experience
  • 7–10 years of IT program/project management experience, including 5+ years specifically in IAM or cybersecurity
  • Strong knowledge of SSO, MFA, PAM, and identity governance solutions
  • Proficiency with authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth, OIDC) and directory services (Active Directory, LDAP)
  • Experience with cloud IAM platforms: Azure AD, AWS IAM, Google Cloud Identity
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects in matrixed environments
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification preferred
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of zero-trust security models and audit compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience in academic, research, or similarly complex organizational environments
  • Familiarity with IAM lifecycle management, identity federation, and governance best practices
  • Ability to lead without direct authority and influence decision-making across departments
  • Strong vendor and contract management experience
