We are seeking an organized and proactive IT Co-op Program Specialist to manage and develop an enterprise technology co-op program. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for co-op students and internal hiring managers while overseeing the program from recruitment through onboarding and offboarding.
The ideal candidate will have strong program coordination, documentation, project management, and relationship-building skills. This individual should be comfortable working independently and improving processes within a growing program.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full co-op lifecycle including recruiting, placement, onboarding, check-ins, and offboarding.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify co-op opportunities and define project responsibilities.
- Coordinate student schedules, placements, evaluations, and program documentation.
- Serve as a primary resource for co-op students and address questions or concerns throughout their assignments.
- Build relationships with academic institutions, career services teams, and other external partners.
- Support career fairs, recruiting events, and student engagement activities.
- Develop and maintain onboarding materials, process documentation, templates, and program guidelines.
- Track program metrics including placements, retention, satisfaction, and potential full-time conversions.
- Prepare reports and program updates for leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve and scale program processes.
- Maintain accurate records while handling sensitive student and personnel information appropriately.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Higher Education, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in program coordination, recruiting, HR programs, internship/co-op administration, or a related function.
- Experience managing programs involving multiple stakeholders, schedules, and deliverables.
- Strong process documentation and organizational skills.
- Experience partnering with hiring managers or business leaders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, or program management tools is a plus.
- Higher education, campus recruiting, or early-career program experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, go-getter mindset.
