AWS Cloud Operations Manager - Greater Boston, MA

Overview:
A leading organization in the region is seeking an AWS Cloud Operations Manager to oversee and optimize its cloud environments. This role manages day-to-day AWS operations, leads a team of cloud engineers, and ensures availability, performance, security, and cost efficiency across critical enterprise systems. The position supports ongoing cloud initiatives, automation efforts, and application migrations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage AWS infrastructure and core services to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability.

• Oversee monitoring, incident response, performance tuning, and operational health.

• Enforce cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and data protection policies.

• Optimize AWS spending and provide reporting on usage and cost controls.

• Lead and mentor a cloud operations engineering team.

• Drive automation using IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform) and support CI/CD environments.

• Manage backups, disaster recovery readiness, and business continuity processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cloud architecture and application migrations.

• Maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

• 8+ years in AWS operations/engineering; 5+ years leading cloud or operations teams.

• Hands-on experience with AWS services, monitoring tools, IaC, and automation.

• Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance.

• AWS certifications strongly preferred (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator).
