Job Description

●        Work closely with M&O management staff to recognize, identify, and evaluate hazardous conditions, behaviors, and work practices.

●        Recommend appropriate containment and corrective actions for hazard control design, methods, procedures, and processes for all machines used in M&O.

●        Develop draft safety procedures including Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space, Machine Guarding, Hazardous Waste Management, Mechanical Room Management, etc.

●        Evaluate all system safety requirements and develop quality control system for M&O management 

●        Conduct health and safety surveys, quantitative and qualitative exposure/risk assessments, and data analyses; ability to provide recommendations for exposure/risk control

●        Requires high level of professionalism and problem-solving:

●        Demonstrate emotional intelligence and professionalism, especially in time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.

REQUIREMENTS:

●        Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Safety Engineering required,

●        Experience in safety engineering, process safety, systems safety, or related areas preferred,

●        Occasionally  lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Occasionally sitting, performing desk-based computer tasks.

●        Occasionally stand/walk, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, use a telephone, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 11-50 pounds.

●        Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, reach/work above shoulder, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, write by hand, sort and file paperwork or parts, operate foot and/or hand controls, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
