Job Description
This role supports an established development team responsible for maintaining and evolving shared application components across multiple high-visibility digital initiatives.
The developer will work within a PHP-based architecture that leverages WordPress as an editorial and interface layer. Responsibilities include extending reusable components, implementing scoped features, and ensuring consistency with existing architectural patterns and development standards.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring immediate contribution within an existing codebase.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with object-oriented PHP, including reusable application logic design
- Experience implementing business logic beyond templating or presentation layers
- Advanced custom WordPress development experience, including:
- Custom blocks
- PHP-based block rendering
- WordPress as an editorial or interface layer
- Experience working within component-based development systems
- Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+) and familiarity with TypeScript
- Experience integrating backend PHP logic with front-end functionality
- Familiarity with React, particularly for editor tooling or interactive components
- Experience working within established codebases and structured workflows
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience supporting public-facing publishing platforms or content-driven applications
- Experience extending shared component libraries or design systems
- Familiarity with editorial workflows or event-driven, high-traffic environments
- Experience collaborating closely with UX and design teams
- Proactive communicator
- Strong collaborator experienced in code reviews
- Able to contribute productively from day one
- Comfortable working onsite in a structured team environment
