Job Description

This role is responsible for overseeing project planning, execution, vendor coordination, stakeholder communication, budgets, schedules, and deliverables across a range of enterprise technology and infrastructure initiatives. Areas of focus include network infrastructure, audiovisual systems, telecommunications, endpoint and IT asset management, and technology installations or relocations.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a practical understanding of infrastructure implementation. This individual must be comfortable working directly with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and senior leadership to clarify requirements, resolve issues, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to completion.

Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, independent judgment, and the flexibility to adapt as project priorities and business needs evolve.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive IT project management experience, including complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • At least 5 years of experience working directly with business stakeholders, technical teams, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure projects, particularly networking, telecommunications, cabling, or related technology deployments.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including projects already in progress and new initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management, and change control.
  • Experience managing vendors, subcontractors, procurement activities, and implementation timelines.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into structured project plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, anticipate issues, and drive projects forward independently.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, ServiceNow, or Jira.
  • Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Ability and willingness to commute to Boston and work onsite 3–4 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or other recognized project management credentials.
  • Experience managing IT asset management initiatives involving endpoint devices, inventory, procurement, and lifecycle processes.
  • Experience with audiovisual systems, telecommunications, printer deployments, and phone line projects.
  • Familiarity with network infrastructure standards, structured cabling, fiber optics, copper, and coaxial systems.
  • Experience reviewing blueprints, construction documentation, or AutoCAD drawings.
  • Knowledge of applicable building and cabling infrastructure standards, including BICSI standards.
  • Current or previous RCDD credentials, or relevant cabling infrastructure certifications.
  • Experience in higher education or another large, complex, multi-site organization.
  • Construction, facilities technology, or infrastructure implementation experience.
  • Experience coordinating technology relocations and working with external installation vendors.
