Job Summary
The senior delivery consultant helps teams within an agile release train (ART) or a journey plan, execute, and track their work using agile frameworks and practices, agile principles, and an agile mindset. They support teams that perform mission critical work, and where new patterns of thinking and work are required. Such teams have complicated dynamics, and need to collaborate at a higher level, both internally and with other teams.
Experienced in Scrum, Kanban, and at least one scaled agile framework. Facilitates their teams through all agile events such as iteration planning, reviews, retrospectives, and program increment (PI) planning. Creates working agreements, definition of ready, and definition of done. Follows agile chapter guidelines such as the definition of an established team, elements of team excellence and PI planning guidance.
Implements metrics to gauge team, ART and journey performance (e.g., burn-up, burndown, lead/cycle times, velocity trends, cumulative flow diagrams). Helps the teams, ARTs and journeys forecast their work, review performance, and take necessary action to align it with the forecast.
Guides teams, ARTs and journeys in the creation of a vision and roadmap. Helps in creation of program increment (PI) backlogs based on vision and roadmap. Assists product owners and teams in aligning product roadmaps and PI plans, product backlogs, and sprint backlogs. Builds awareness of, and supports agile chapter guidelines for work items.
Uses tools such as Feature Kanban to manage feature lifecycle and drive backlog management; ensures that the backlog meets exit criteria for each stage. Guides the teams in meeting the criteria where necessary.
