Primary resource for our client's community for the coordination and planning of audiovisual systems and services for special events (high profile, high complexity, VIP, etc.). Works with its AV department staff to sustain existing activities, while developing new solutions for event production and support. Meets with DLC representatives to coordinate events with proper equipment and technician services to be provided by our client. Delegates event production details to appropriate technical staff to ascertain necessary production details to enable accurate event estimates. Technical responsibilities include knowledge of audiovisual systems installed in Institute event spaces to serve events, portable audiovisual equipment, and various business-related systems. Participate in Institute wide planning for major events that include audiovisual technologies and systems. Lead and/or participate in departmental meetings to plan for upcoming events, develop solutions for staffing and coordinate equipment resources as needed.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborates with DLC and other campus event planners to develop plans for audiovisual support for their events. Develops estimates for events based on planning meetings. Solicits technician involvement in planning meetings as necessary to capture necessary technical details for successful event production. When appropriate, delegates event planning activities to support staff.Supervises and monitors the scheduling and coordination processes and procedures of the daily operation of Audiovisual Services. Works closely with scheduling and office staff to assign bargaining unit and freelance audiovisual technicians to work orders based on event complexity, staff availability and skill levels.Monitors and provides oversight and guidance for event (live and remote) request processing, planning, execution, and billing.Manages and participates in VIP events as technical director/stage manager as required.Creates and fosters routine communication with technical staff (bargaining until and freelance technicians) and administrative support staff to improve communication regarding event planning, production, and ticket procedures. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a communications-related field, is preferred; 8-10 years of event production experience in an educational, hotel or corporate setting focusing on direct contact with customers; a combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience with audiovisual equipment such as audio components (microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speaker systems, etc.), display systems (projectors, screens, displays, computers) to enable appropriate planning of equipment and technician resources for events. Knowledge of Institute event spaces, their AV infrastructure and systems and staffing requirements to operate AV systems. Proficiency in multiple computer platforms (Windows, Mac OS, etc.), database software, web browsers and presentation software. Apply for this job
