Establish design criteria, prepares procurement specifications, evaluates bids, and manages contracts for low voltage and telecommunications work.Conceptualize plans, details and sections to accurately convey construction/installation requirements.Telecommunication and low voltage system design, technical analyses and resolution of engineering problemsTelecommunications and low voltage system equipment selection, specifications and cost estimates Designs, sizes and specifies equipment/systems, including; Telecommunications cable plants and pathways both OSP and ISPTelecommunications system equipment selectionRack layouts and elevationsTelecommunications room layoutsLow voltage signal systems including paging, fire alarm, security, CCTV and miscellaneous systems Performs calculations using specialized engineering similar software, including; MDF/IDF room and equipment sizingCable/ Tray FillAbility to collaborate with construction firms to identify and document infrastructure requirementsAbility to read/edit construction drawings and documents Coordination with clients, with other disciplines, with vendors, and with construction contractors. Checks and back-checks documents and drawings produced by other engineers and drafting personnel.Coordinates with other engineering disciplinesAssist in managing workload and work priorities to ensure customer expectations are set, communicated, and met.Manage the use cases and utilization of telecomm closets and ancillary spacesTrack and manage inventory in relation to infrastructure projects and support of Communication Infrastructure teamThis position will be reporting to the Communications Infrastructure Manager Required Experience: Candidates are shall have RCDD or working towards obtaining RCDD / Registered Communications Distribution Designer CertificationAssociate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or relative experience is requiredSuccessful candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience working on telecommunications, and low voltage systems design including security systems, access control, CCTV, Audio/Visual for a variety of facilities, preferably in the commercial, industrial, correctional and educational industriesStrong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.Candidate shall possess working knowledge of industry standards such as TIA/EIA, BICSI, NFPA, UFC's and relevant NEMA, NFPA, and UL Standards.
